Product Description Product Description Hexagonal boron nitride, also known as white graphite.Hexagonal boron nitride is the simplest boron-nitrogen polymer. Similar to the hexagonal carbon network in graphite, nitrogen and boron in hexagonal boron nitride also form hexagonal network layers, overlapping each other to form crystals.The crystal is similar to graphite, with diamagnetic properties and high anisotropy, and the crystal parameters of the two are also quite similar. Boron nitride is mainly used in refractory materials, semiconductor solid phase doping sources, atomic pile structural materials, neutron radiation protection packaging materials, rocket engine components, high-temperature lubricants and release agents.Crystal form(1) Hexagonal boron nitride (similar to graphite, also known as graphite boron nitride, white graphite). Relative density 2.25. Mohs hardness about 2. It is a white powder that melts at about 3000oC under high pressure. It has good electrical insulation, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and good lubricity. It has good chemical stability and does not react with water, acid or alkali at room temperature. It slowly hydrolyzes with water to produce boric acid and ammonia. It reacts with hot concentrated or molten alkali and hot chlorine. It can withstand high temperatures of 2000oC. It has strong electron-withdrawing ability. It can be made by heating borax and ammonium chloride in an ammonia stream.(2) Cubic boron nitride (diamond type). It is a black or brown granular crystal. Relative density 3.48. Melting point 3000oC. The hardness is equivalent to that of diamond. The stability at high temperature is better than that of diamond. It can be directly synthesized from boron and nitrogen under high temperature and high pressure conditions.
