About the DCM-4ST Inclinometer2.1 OverviewThe DCM-4ST Inclinometer kit consists of two main parts, the logging probe and an Android controller, which is used for monitoring the probe setting, downloading logging date from the probe and output the borehole logging data. The DCM-4ST's probe is a magnetic multi-shot logging tool. The electronic unit consists of three magnetometers and three accelerometers. They measure the magnetic field and gravity where the tool is placed along. The sensor data obtained during a logging is stored in the internal memory of the probe and can be downloaded via Bluetooth when the probe is connected to the Android controller.2.4 Android Controller The controller is used to set the logging conditions for the logging tool (probe). The controller is installed an Android operation system. It is IP68 rated and is water-proof for a sudden dipping in 1m deep water and dust-proof. It has a rugged casing and integrated with GPS, Flashlight and etc. The controller has "BOHWA" app installed when it is shipped. User can use the controller to measure and check data. 2.5 Battery The DCM-4ST probe is powered by a rechargeable 7.4V lithium battery pack. The logging probe can work for about 20 hours each time after being fully charged. The lithium battery can be recharged for maximum 500 times during its operation life. 2.6 Other accessoriesLanding collar & extension rods & screw adapter With the DCM-4ST, inclined or vertical drilled boreholes can be easily logged passing through the drill bit. The logging tool is lowered or pumped passing through the drill bit to avoid magnetic disturbance from the drill string. The landing collar assembly has a spear head for connecting to the overshot.The extension rods should be long enough to keep the logging probe extended at least 3 meters out of the drill bit. Remember to pull out the drill string a safe distance away from the borehole bottom, so the logging does not hit the bottom of the borehole. In the case where you have 3 meter extension rods connected to the probe, the drill bit should be pulled minimum 5 meters away from the borehole bottom, considering that the logging probe is 1.2 meters long.It is important to check that the landing collar assembly is suitable for the drill string size. The landing collar assembly is available in standard BQ, NQ and HQ size. Other sizes can be made upon request. The Landing collar diameter must be smaller than the inner diameter than the landing ring whole bigger than the inner diameter of the drill bit. This is to ensure that the probe can passing through the core barrel outer tube while safely locked by the drill bit.When doing the logging in the horizontal or upward boreholes, the landing collar can be replaced by the screw adapter provided in the accessories. The probe can be connected to a stiff non-magnetic pipe, for example a DN15 (1/2 Inch) PE water pipe. With the help of the PE pipe, the probe can be put into the borehole. Mark the pipe with spray paint for every logging depth designed.Alternatively, with the help of mud pump, for doing the logging in the horizontal or upward boreholes, the probe can also be pumped into the core barrel assembly with the landing collar connected to the probe. Under this condition, the driller can use the NQU or BQU overshot assembly for recovering the probe out of the borehole.Charger and battery check module Connect the charger to the 220V AC power to charge the battery. There is a power indicator module integrated on this charger. Green lights means the battery is in good condition while red lights means the battery is almost running out of power. Hexagonal Spanner and O ringsThe DCM-4ST kit has a hexagonal spanner and O rings. Check the condition of O ring each time when the logging is finished.
