When the airflow carrying droplets passes through curved and intricate wire mesh channels, the gas can relatively easily change direction and bypass the threads. However, due to their large mass and inertia, droplets cannot change direction flexibly like gases, and will directly impact the surface of the silk thread. After impact, the droplets are captured on the surface of the silk thread.2.Direct interception When the size of the droplet is large and the distance from the center of its motion trajectory to the surface of the wire is less than the droplet radius, even if the inertia is not large, the droplet will directly contact the wire and be captured.3.Brown diffusionFor very fine droplets (usually<1 μ m), they are affected by irregular collisions of gas molecules (Brownian motion) and undergo irregular motion. This irregular motion increases their chances of coming into contact with the surface of the wire mesh and being captured.4.Gravity settlingFor larger droplets, gravity will cause them to settle onto the surface of the wire mesh. But in high-speed airflow, this effect is relatively weak.Accumulation and discharge of liquids:The captured droplets continuously accumulate and merge on the surface of the silk thread, forming larger droplets. When the droplets grow to a point where their own gravity exceeds the blowing force of the gas and the surface tension of the wire mesh, they will detach from the wire mesh and flow downwards into the collection tank at the bottom of the equipment, ultimately being discharged from the system. This process is called 'coalescence'.
