It enables the control of light beam morphology in a single direction (such as focusing into a line or diverging), and is widely applied in laser shaping, industrial inspection, and medical equipment, among other fields.Structure and TypesMorphological Classification: The cross-section can be designed as plano-convex, plano-concave, biconvex, biconcave, etc. For example, a plano-concave cylindrical lens (single plane + concave surface) achieves diverging beam control through a negative focal length, while a plano-convex cylindrical lens (single plane + convex surface) is used for unidirectional focusing to form a linear light spot.Beam Control Characteristics: Unlike spherical lenses that form a point focus, cylindrical lenses can convert light beams into linear shapes (e.g., transforming a point light source into a linear light source).
