The sound waves propagate at a fixed speed in the medium and reflect back to the transducer upon encountering the surface of the medium (such as liquid or solid materials). After receiving the reflected wave, the transducer accurately calculates the time interval Δ t from the transmitted pulse to the received pulse through the built-in circuit. According to the formula, distance L=sound velocity C × Δ t/2 (due to the back and forth propagation of sound waves, it needs to be divided by 2), the actual distance from the transducer to the surface of the medium can be obtained.
