Product Description Manganin Wire/Ribbon/Strip for Shunt Resistor (6J13/ 6J12/6J8)Product DescriptionManganin wire widely used for low voltage instrumentation with the highest requirements, the resistors should be carefully stabilised and the application temperature should not exceed +60 °C. Exceeding the maximum working temperature in air may result in a resistance drift generated by oxidizing. Thus, the long-term stability can be affected negatively. As a result, the resistivity as well as the temperature coefficient of the electric resistance may slightly change. It is also used as low cost replacement material for silver solder for hard metal mounting.Chemical Content, %NiMnFeSiCuOtherROHS DirectiveCdPbHgCr2~511~13<0.5microBal-NDNDNDNDMechanical PropertiesMax Continuous Service Temp0-100oCResisivity at 20oC0.44±0.04ohm mm2/mDensity8.4 g/cm3Thermal Conductivity40 KJ/m·h·oCTemp Coefficient of Resistance at 20 oC0~40α×10-6/oCMelting Point1450oCTensile Strength(Hard)585 Mpa(min)Tensile Strength,N/mm2 Annealed,Soft390-535Elongation6~15%EMF vs Cu, μV/oC (0~100oC)2(max)Micrographic StructureausteniteMagnetic PropertynonHardness200-260HBMicrographic StructureFerriteMagnetic PropertyMagneticResistance Alloy- Manganin Sizes / Temper CapabilitiesCondition: Bright, Annealed, Soft Wire diameter 0.02mm-1.0mm packing in spool, big than 1.0mm packing in coilRod, Bar diameter 1mm-30mm Strip: Thickness 0.01mm-7mm, Width 1mm-280mm Manganin Applications: 1; It is used for making wire wound precision resistance2; Resistance boxes3; Shunts for electrical measuring instrumentsManganin foil and wire is used in the manufacture of resistors, particularly ammeter shunts, because of its virtually zero temperature coefficient of resistance value and long term stability. Several Manganin resistors served as the legal standard for the ohm in the United States from 1901 to 1990. Manganin wire is also used as an electrical conductor in cryogenic systems, minimizing heat transfer between points which need electrical connections. Manganin is also used in gauges for studies of high-pressure shock waves (such as those generated from the detonation of explosives) because it has low strain sensitivity but high hydrostatic pressure sensitivity.
