Product Description Single Stroke Honing Tools for Refrigerator Compressor Connecting Rod BoresSingle pass honing tools, also known as single stroke honing tools, are advanced precision finishing solutions designed for high-efficiency bore sizing and surface finishing in mass production environments. BOSON Abrasives offers a full range of diamond single pass honing tools specifically engineered for connecting rod bore honing in refrigerator compressors.During the manufacturing of refrigerator compressors, the connecting rod bore requires extremely high accuracy to ensure proper fit and smooth motion with the crankshaft pin. The single pass honing process removes minimal stock with high precision, achieving excellent roundness, cylindricity, and surface finish (Ra 0.2 μm) in one stroke. This process is ideal for high-volume production where consistency, repeatability, and productivity are critical.BOSON's single pass honing tools consist of a precision steel mandrel plated or bonded with superabrasives (diamond or CBN). Each tool is custom designed according to the bore size, material hardness, and required tolerance. The process involves passing a series of tools with pre-set sizes, progressively through the bore, in a single in-and-out stroke. Either honing tools or part, or both can be floating.The number of tools that are used, depend on part material hardness, total stock removal amount, geometrical tolerances and surface finish requirements. Single pass honing tools are suitable for high production rates, ensuring very close bore size & geometric repeatability over a large batch size of order of tens of thousands of parts, reaching as high as 600,000 parts in one setting.Electroplated Diamond Honing ToolsThe electroplated abrasive sleeve is manufactured by depositing a layer of nickel or nickel alloy onto the surface of the substrate through an electroplating process, while embedding diamond or cubic boron nitride (CBN) abrasive particles uniformly into the plating layer. This process ensures that the abrasive particles are evenly distributed on the surface of the sleeve, thereby enhancing high cutting efficiency and precise dimensional control. The electroplated abrasive sleeve exhibits very high cutting capability during the initial stages of honing, making it particularly suitable for the high-precision machining of hard materials.? With a set of tools working on the bore progressively, bore size & geometry are controlled precisely and consistently over a large batch size.
