Product Description Function and measurement systemmeasuring principleThe MGS series of guided wave radar level meters are "top-down" measuring instruments based on the Time of Flight (Time of Flight) principle. High-frequency pulse signals are emitted to the probe and propagate along it. When they encounter the material surface, they reflect. The reflected signal returns along the probe and is received by the instrument. Through unique equivalent sampling technology, the time difference between the emission and reception of the pulse is converted into the distance from the instrument reference point (the connection point of the instrument's process) to the material surface, thus calculating the level. This measurement method is known as TDR Time Domain Reflectometry (Time Domain Reflectometry).importThe echo pulse signal is transmitted from the probe to the electronic unit of the instrument. The microprocessor analyzes the received signal to distinguish the true level echo signal. The correct identification of the echo signal is completed by intelligent software. The measurement distance D is proportional to the travel time t of the pulse: D=c * t / 2--, where c is the speed of light. Based on the known empty tank height E, the level L can be calculated as L =E-D--. See the reference point for the empty tank height E in the figure on the right.outputAccording to the field conditions, the height of empty tank (zero point), the height of full tank (full scale) and application parameters are set to make the instrument automatically adapt to the current measurement application. According to the user's range setting, the corresponding output 4~20mA is set.
