Product Description 1: Brief Introduction Of 6063 Aluminium/Aluminum Round Bar 6063 is an aluminium alloy, with magnesium and silicon as the alloying elements. The standard controlling its compositionis maintained by The Aluminum Association. It has generally good mechanical properties and is heat treatable and weldable.It is similar to the British aluminium alloy HE9.6063 is the most common alloy used for aluminium extrusion. It allows complex shapes to be formed with very smoothsurfaces fit for anodizing and so is popular for visible architectural applications such as window frames, door frames, roofs,and sign frames.[3][4] Applications requiring higher strength typically use 6061 or 6082 instead.Machinability:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy has average machinability.6063-OUn-heat-treated 6063 has maximum tensile strength no more than 130 MPa (19,000 psi), and no specified maximum yieldstrength. The material has elongation (stretch before ultimate failure) of 18%.6063-T1T1 temper 6063 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 120 MPa (17,000 psi) in thicknesses up to 12.7 mm (0.5 in),and 110 MPa (16,000 psi) from 13 to 25 mm (0.5 to 1 in) thick, and yield strength of at least 62 MPa (9,000 psi) in thicknessup to 13 millimetres (0.5 in) and 55 MPa (8,000 psi) from 13 mm (0.5 in) thick. It has elongation of 12%.6063-T5T5 temper 6063 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 140 MPa (20,000 psi) in thicknesses up to 13 millimetres (0.5 in),and 130 MPa (19,000 psi) from 13 mm (0.5 in) thick, and yield strength of at least 97 MPa (14,000 psi) up to 13 millimetres(0.5 in) and 90 MPa (13,000 psi) from13 to 25 mm (0.5 to 1 in). It has elongation of 8%.6063-T6T6 temper 6063 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 190 MPa (28,000 psi) and yield strength of at least 160 MPa(23,000 psi). In thicknesses of 3.15 millimetres (0.124 in) or less, it has elongation of 8% or more; in thicker sections,it has elongation of 10%.Other tempers:6063 is also produced in tempers T52, T53, T54, T55, and T832, with various improved desired properties.Forming:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy has good hot or cold formability.Welding:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy has good weldability.Heat Treatment:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy is heat treated at 522°C (970°F) followed by quenching in water. This results in theproduction of T 4 temper. Other tempers can be produced by aging.Forging:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy is hot forged at 260 to 510°C (500 to 950°F).Hot Working:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy can be hot worked at temperatures ranging from 260 to 510°C (500 to 950°F)Cold Working:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy has good cold working capacity.Annealing:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy is annealed at 413°C (775°F) for 3 h followed by controlled cooling at 10 to 260°C(50 to 500°F) per hour, and air cooling.Aging:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy can be aged at 177°C (350°F) for 8 h to produce T 6 and T 62 tempers. It can be agedat 183°C (360°F) to produce T5 temper.Hardening:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy can be hardened by aging heat treatment and cold working.Applications:Aluminium / Aluminum 6063 alloy is used in architectural extrusions. It is also used in manufacturing windows, pipe railing,furniture, and stair rails.2: Chemical Composition The aluminum industry has created a system using a four-digit numerical designation to identify wrought aluminum alloys. The first digit indicates the major alloying element. The second digit indicates whether there was a modification in the basicalloy. The third and fourth digit indicates the specific alloy.
