Metal wires are crimped before the weaving operation, so this weave style is also known as pre-crimped weave. The pre-crimping operation enables both the warp and weft wires to nest securely with each other restricting their random movement and ensuring an accurate and consistent opening size. And the pre-crimped weaving technique adds strength and rigidity to woven wire mesh screens. Our crimped wire mesh screens are manufactured from many types of materials and in wire sizes usually ranging from 0.41mm to 12.7mm diameter or greater, and their clear openings size usually ranges from 0.65mm to 250mm. Our material types for crimped wire mesh screens include, but are not limited to, carbon steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals and special materials. In the wire cloth industry, most crimped wire mesh screens are manufactured in plain weaving. Our pre-crimped weave mainly involves 5 types of crimping patterns, i.e. double crimp, intermediate crimp, lock crimp, flat top crimp and triple shute crimp. Copper, also known as pure copper or red copper, is a soft metal with good corrosion resistance and good conduction properties for heat and electricity. Copper-based alloys that are widely used in the woven wire industry are brass and phosphor bronze. Brass is a copper-zinc alloy particularly suitable for sieving and filtration purposes, and zinc is the principal alloying element in brass. Phosphor Bronze, also known as tin bronze, is a copper-tin alloy that contains a mixture of copper with 0.5-11% tin and 0.01-0.35% phosphorous. Phosphor Bronze is largely wear & tear resistant.Nickel and Nickel Based Alloys Nickel is resistant to the action of a number of acid and alkaline chemical corroding solutions. The material is suitable for welding and is about as hard as steel. Nickel based alloys such as Inconel, Incoloy, Hastelloy and others are not always weavable, so a special enquiry is advisable. MONEL-Metal is easy to weave and resistant to atmospheric corrosion, the action of seawater and most acids and alkalines. Classification of Screen Mesh Our crimped wire mesh screens are classified as square aperture mesh screens and rectangular aperture (or slotted opening) mesh screens according to their geometry (or hole pattern).Square Aperture Mesh Screens Square aperture mesh screens are widely used as screening media in the mining and aggregate industries, due to their high precision and high tensile strength. Our square aperture mesh screens are divided into four types according to their crimping patterns: TYPE DC - DOUBLE CRIMPSquare pattern wire cloth using warp and fill wires ofequal size. Warp wires pass over and under fill wiresin an alternating pattern at adjacent intersections. TYPE IC - INTER CRIMPWire cloth manufactured with crimped warp wiresfilled at every other crimp with fill wires. Theresulting cloth provides superior rigidity andgreater stability.TYPE LC - LOCK CRIMPVersatile wire cloth manufactured to hold accurate openings. Each intersection is formed with straight sections of fill wires woven within straight sections of warp wires. Fill wires are woven in an alternating pattern, top and bottom. TYPE FT - FLAT TOP CRIMPAll crimping is offset to one side producing a wire cloth with all wire surfaces in a single plane on the top. This even surface allows for the smooth flow of materials over the top surface of the cloth.Rectangular Aperture (or Slotted Opening) Mesh Screens Our rectangular aperture (or slotted opening) Mesh Screens mainly involve Long-Slot Single-Shoot Mesh Screens and Long-Slot Triple-Shoot Mesh Screens. Both Long-Slot Single-Shoot Mesh Screens and Long-Slot Triple-Shoot Mesh Screens provide maximum open area and tend to prevent blinding or plugging of material (damp or sticky material does not build up on the longer openings), thus offering more throughput and a better self-cleaning effect than square aperture Mesh Screens. Long-Slot Mesh Screens are pre-crimped specifically to provide better sizing accuracy. They can be manufactured in a "flat-top" weave for more uniform wear and are available in a wide range of smaller dimensions and slot lengths. The smaller dimension controls the sizing of material.
