Product Description DTH drill bitNow the high pressure DTH drill bit is currently used in the face design. There are four main types: end surface convex surface, end surface planar surface, end surface concave surface and end surface deep concave center type. These are deigned for specific applications for all rock types, hardness's and condition. Bit life and rate of penetration are the most important criteria in selecting the right bit for a particular application.Bit Face Shape Selection:Drop Center:For High penetration rates in soft to medium hard and fissured rock formations. Low to medium air pressure. Maximum hole deviation control. Concave Face:The all round application bit face specifically for medium hard and homogenerous rock formations. Good hole deviation control and good flushing capacity.Convex Face:For high penetration rates in soft to medium hard with low to medium air pressures. It is the most resistance to steel wash, and may reduce the load and wear on the gauge buttons, but poor hole deviation control. Double Gauge Face:This kind of face shape is suitable for fast penetration rates in medium to hard rock formations. Designed for high air pressures and good resistance to steel wash step gauge bit.Flat Face:This kind of face shape is suitable for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations in applications with high air pressures. Good penetration rates an resistance to steel wash. Pineapple Face:The Pineapple Bit can be dressed with ballistic buttons for use in soft to medium hard formations where fractured rock can be expected, or can be supplied with spherical buttons for hard and abrasive formations.DTH drills are classified into high-pressure down-the-hole drills and low-pressure down-the-hole drills.
