For pipelines without a ball valve, non-pressurized installation is required (this allows the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve).A hole with a diameter of 50 mm should be made in the pipeline, and preparations should be made to weld a connecting pipe to the opening.For applications requiring uninterrupted flow during loading and unloading or where media overflow is not permissible, a ball valve must be incorporated. If installation in such areas is unavoidable, proper insulation and ventilation must be provided.The ideal location for installing the flowmeter is indoors. If outdoor installation is necessary, it must be shielded from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight, with moisture-proof and sun-proof precautions.Avoid installing the flowmeter in environments containing corrosive gases. If this cannot be avoided, adequate ventilation measures must be implemented.Ensure sufficient space around the flowmeter to facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep.Avoid installing the flowmeter near magnetic fields and sources of strong vibrations. If the pipeline experiences significant vibration, supports should be added on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter2.1. Straight Section Requirements To reduce the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, specific lengths for the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections are required; otherwise, measurement accuracy will suffer (alternatively, a straightener can be installed, and installation close to control or partially open valves should be avoided).2.2. Process Pipe Requirements The upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point have specific requirements to maintain measurement accuracy: a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream pipes must match the sensor's diameter and meet the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the inner diameter of the sensor, and D is the inner diameter of the process pipe). b. The process pipe and the sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes For optimal maintenance of our High Reliability Flowmeter with Wireless Transmission and Quick Response Time, installing a bypass pipe is strongly recommended. This is particularly crucial when dealing with heavily contaminated fluids or when the flowmeter needs cleaning without interrupting the fluid flow. a. Facilitates maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Mandatory for heavily contaminated fluids. c. Ensures uninterrupted fluid flow during cleaning.3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Inlet/Outlet Straight Pipe Sections: To ensure accurate measurement, the inlet section should be ≥ 10×DN, while the outlet section should be ≥ 5×DN.3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points Ensuring the reliable operation of the instrument and enhancing measurement accuracy requires good grounding. The sensor's grounding resistance should be less than 10 ohms to prevent interference from external parasitic potentials. (If the metal pipeline is already well grounded, a dedicated grounding device is unnecessary.)3.3.
