Product Description Molded grating processFRP grating is manufactured by laying continuous glass fibres in the mould in the direction of vertical and horizontal, and througly wetted out with resin, layer by layer. When the weaving process is completed, the mould is heated to cure the panel. After curing, the panel is ejected from the mould. The standard panel would have meniscus (concave) top surface. Any process such as post applied grit could be bonded after as a secondary operation. Selection of raw materialsThe raw materials for FRP gratings consist of resin, fiberglass filaments, and calcium powder (used as filler) in a 1:1:1 ratio. High-quality FRP gratings are manufactured using premium resin-specifically 196-type unsaturated phthalic resin, which is colorless, transparent, low in viscosity, low in exothermicity, low in shrinkage, fast-curing, highly compatible, and offers a bright luster. The resulting FRP gratings feature a flat, smooth surface with excellent gloss, high strength, and good toughness.In contrast, inferior resins yield the opposite results. Such resins are turbid, high in viscosity, high in exothermicity, high in shrinkage, relatively slow-curing, and poorly compatible. FRP gratings produced with inferior resins have numerous pores, are prone to breakage, and exhibit low strength and poor toughness.Fiberglass filaments play a crucial role in enhancing the toughness of FRP gratings. High-quality fiberglass materials, such as alkali-free fiberglass, possess inherent toughness, excellent chemical stability, and weather resistance. They are nearly non-absorbent, fire-retardant, and their high strength also makes them suitable for use as tire cords.The filler for FRP gratings is typically calcium powder or similar substances. High-quality fillers are fine, white, fire-retardant, and integrate seamlessly with the resin, resulting in panels with an attractive color, good transparency, and superior toughness. Conversely, inferior fillers are coarse, dull, and non-fire-retardant. Panels made with such fillers lack luster, are relatively brittle, and have poor toughness.B.
