Product Description HITAKOL SR981 100% RTV Silicone SealantSR981 Silicone Sealant is a one-part, fast curing, acetic silicone sealant. It reacts with moisture in the air at room temperature to form an elastic silicone rubber with long-lasting toughness after curing. It is versatile and has good adhesion to many substrates. It has excellent weather resistance, water resistance and sealing properties.FEATURES & BENEFITS:? One part and ready to use? Acetoxy cure system? Fast curing? Non-sag, paste consistency? Cures to a tough, flexible rubber? Good adhesion to many substrates? Reliable durability, the cured sealant remains elastic at -40°C to 150°C without hardening, cracking and chipping? Resistant to UV, ozone, and temperature extremesAPPLICATIONS:SR981 Silicone Sealant exhibits excellent primerless adhesion to most non-porous substrates, such as glass, tiles, ceramics, enamel, glazed tiles, aluminum alloy, fiber glass, impregnated, varnished or painted wood and some plastics.SR981 Silicone Sealant is suitable for:? Many general industrial sealing and bonding applications? DIY sealing and bonding applicationsQUALITY ASSURANCE:? This product has passed ISO9001/ISO14001 management system certification, and strictly in accordance with ISO9001 quality system requirements for production and control of product quality.COLOUR: ? Clear, White, Black , Silver grey or other colors required by the userUSABLE LIFE AND STORAGE: ? When stored at or below 27°C in the original unopened containers, it has a usable life of 12 months from the date of production.PACKAGING INFORMATION:? SR981 Silicone Sealant is supplied in 300 ml disposable plastic cartridges and 200L drum bulk packaging.LIMITATIONS:? Do not use for structural glazing. ? Do not use in the manufacture of Insulated Glass (IG) Units. ? Not recommended for use on materials where the cure by-product (acetic acid vapor) may cause corrosion, discoloration or where the sealant may affect their appearance (e.g. galvanized iron, copper, brass, zinc-coated steel, concrete, cement, brick, limestone, marble and similar highly porous stone finishes). ? Not recommended for direct contact on the reflective coatings on mirrors. ? Not recommended for continuous water immersion applications. ? Not recommended for joints exceeding ±25% movement.? Not recommended for use on polycarbonate plastic sheeting. Suitability for use on other types of plastic should be tested prior to application. ? Good adhesion is normally not obtained on PTFE, polyethylene, polypropylene and related materials.? Not recommended for use in below ground joints or trafficable joints where abrasion and physical abuse are encountered. ? Do not use in the sealing or construction of aquariums. ? Cured sealant surface can not be painted, as paint will not adhere well to sealant.? Should not be applied to materials that bleed plasticisers or solvents or release by-products that may inhibit its cure, affect adhesion or discolor the sealant (eg. bituminous based adhesives and coatings). ? Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C or when substrate surface temperatures exceed 40°C. ? Should not be used as an interior penetration firestop sealing system. ? Should not be applied to surfaces in direct contact with food or drinking water. ? Polyester powder coat paint exhibits a highly variable wax content on the surface. Ensure thorough solvent cleaning. ? Can not be used in totally confined spaces, because the sealant requires atmospheric moisture for cure? This product is neither tested nor represented as suitable for medical or pharmaceutical usesHOW TO USE:? Substrate preparationSubstrate surfaces must be completely clean, dry and sound. Completely remove any loose debris or old sealant.Non-porous substrates: Wipe the surfaces using a clean white lint-free cloth dipped in non-oily solvent to remove any oils and contaminants. Then immediately wipe with a second dry lint-free cloth to remove any traces of solvent and contamination. Suitable solvents include methyl ethyl ketone, xylene, isopropyl alcohol, etc.Porous substrates: Clean by mechanical methods to expose a sound surface free of contamination.NOTE: When using flammable solvents, keep away from heat and open flames. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact.? PrimingAdhesion testing of the substrate prior to use is recommended and, if necessary, a primer solution may be required to ensure good bonding.? Back-up MaterialsIf backing material is required, at the bottom of the joint, use backer rod ( Closed-cell type polyethylene or open-cell polyurethane foams is recommended). For shallow joints, use low-viscosity polyethylene tape as the backing material. Avoid three-sided adhesion by preventing the sealant from adhering to the bottom of the joint.? MaskingMasking tape can be used in the area adjacent to the joint to ensure a neat sealant line, preventing the surrounding surplus sealant from contaminating the substrate surface.? Applying SealantCut the nozzle at an angle of 45° depending on the shape and specification needed. screw nozzle onto cartridge and place it into caulking gun. Air-operated or hand-operated caulking guns can be used. Apply sealant to the bottom of the joint to fill the joint completely and to ensure adhesion to both sides of the joint. Do not simply lay a bead on the surface as the sealant will not penetrate the joint under its own weight.? ToolingTool joint if necessary, and remove masking tape. Tool immediately after sealant is applied and before a skin begins to form. Dry tool and do not use soap or water as tooling aids. Tooling should be completed in one continuous stroke to provide a smooth even finish and to ensure the sealant wets the sides of the joint. A tool with a convex profile is recommended. Remove masking tape immediately after tooling and before the sealant skins. Do not touch the surface of the sealant within the 48 hours.? RemovalUncured SR981 GP General Purpose Silicone Sealant may be removed from tools and equipment with solvents ( e.g. xylene, toluene, methyl ethyl ketone or mineral turpentine ) if cleaned before sealant has begun to cure. Observe proper precautions when using flammable solvents. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed skin should be washed with soap and water immediately after use. Do not use solvents on skin .? Cure TimeAfter skin formation, cure continues inward from the surface. In 24 hours (at room temperature and 50% relative humidity) SR981 All Purpose RTV Silicone Sealant will cure to a depth of about 3 mm. Very deep sections, especially when access to atmospheric moisture is restricted will take longer to cure completely. Cure time is extended at lower humidity levels. Before handling and packaging bonded components, users are advised to wait a sufficiently long time to ensure that the integrity of the adhesion is not affected. This will depend on many factors and should be determined by the user for each specific application.PRECAUTIONS:? Please read the safety data sheet of this product prior to use? Avoid contact with eyes before curing. If contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor? Pay attention to ventilation in the working areas? Uncured products should avoid contact with children Product name: SR981 Silicone SealantQuality: Excellent and StableCustomer's brand: AcceptableSample test: Free to provideColor Available: Transparent, White, Black, Aluminum, Grey, etcDelivery time: 1~2 weeksPackaging: 12 pieces/carton or 24 pieces/cartonLoading quantity: 2000 cartons/ 20 ft container ( 24 cartridges/ carton)Pallets packaging: Acceptable
