Product Description Function and Measurement SystemMeasuring PrincipleThe MGS series of guided wave radar level meters are cutting-edge "top-down" measuring instruments leveraging the advanced Time of Flight (ToF) principle. They emit high-frequency pulse signals towards a probe, which then propagate along its length. Upon encountering the material surface, these pulses reflect and journey back along the probe to be captured by the instrument. Utilizing an innovative equivalent sampling technology, the elapsed time between pulse emission and reception is meticulously transformed into the distance from the instrument's reference point to the material surface, enabling precise level calculations. This sophisticated measurement method is known as TDR Time Domain Reflectometry.Signal ProcessingThe echo pulse signal elegantly travels from the probe to the instrument's electronic unit, where a sophisticated microprocessor meticulously analyzes the received data to discern the genuine level echo signal. Intelligent software ensures precise identification, correlating the measurement distance D with the travel time t of the pulse via the formula: D=c * t / 2, where c denotes the speed of light. With the known empty tank height E, the level L is computed as L =E-D. Refer to the diagram on the right for the reference point of the empty tank height E.OutputTailored to field conditions, the instrument allows for seamless setting of the empty tank height (zero point), full tank height (full scale), and application parameters, ensuring it adapts effortlessly to the current measurement scenario.
