Product Description Product DescriptionIntroductionINCOLOY alloy 803 is an alloy comprising of iron-nickel and chromium, with a high nickel and chromium content compared to other INCOLOY alloys. This alloy proves to be a cost effective alternative for replacing other alloys that are used in corrosive reducing, oxidizing and sulfidising environments. The alloy also exhibits good stress-rupture strength at high temperatures. Some of the standard forms of the alloy are pipes, welds, tubes, plate, strip, round, squares and forged fittings.CompositionThe chemical composition of INCOLOY alloy 803 is given in the following table.ElementContent (%)Iron, Fe29.435-42.64Nickel, Ni32-37Chromium, Cr25-29Manganese, Mn≤1.5Silicon, Si≤1OthersRemainderGrade SpecificationGradeUNSDINENAMSASTMJISIncoloy 803S35045 ASTM A240ASTM A213 Physical PropertiesThe following table discusses the physical properties of INCOLOY alloy 803.PropertiesMetricImperialDensity7.86 gm/cm30.284 lb/in3Mechanical PropertiesThe mechanical properties of INCOLOY alloy 803 are tabulated below.PropertiesMetricImperialTensile strength(sheet, cold rolled and solution annealed)552-621 MPa80.1-90.1 ksiYield strength(rod, hot finished and solution annealed)207-255 MPa30-37 ksiElongation at Break( sheet, cold rolled and solution annealed)40-45%40-45%Modulus of Elasticity195 GPa28300 ksiModulus of Elasticity188 GPa27300 ksiPoissons Ratio0.320.32 Corrosion ResistanceINCOLOY alloy 803 is characterized by an impressive resistance to various forms of high-temperature corrosionCarburization can cause a loss of an alloy's creep and stress-rupture strength and a reduction in resistance tothermal fatigue. Mixed oxidant carburizing environments are the most typical atmospheres for applicationsinvolving heat-resistant alloys. INcOLOY alloy 803 forms a protective oxide in these environments, A more severeatmosphere is created by "oxygen-ree" carburizing environments which restrict the formaton of protectiveoxides.StandardsProduct FormStandardPlate, sheet and stripASTM A240, A480Seamless pipe and tubeASTM A213Welded tubeASTM A249ForgingsASTM A182ApplicationsINCOLOY alloy 803 is used in the following applications:Petrochemical, chemical and thermal processesID finned pyrolysisTubing of high-severity ethylene furnaces.
