Product Description I. The upflow sedimentation tank is a commonly used piece of equipment for solid-liquid separation in wastewater treatment. It utilizes the gravitational settling action to remove suspended particles with a density greater than water from the liquid. It is one of the widely applied treatment units in wastewater treatment, primarily achieving solid-liquid separation by controlling the upward flow speed of sewage to be less than the natural settling velocity of the sludge, and can be used for the primary treatment of sewage.II. Working principle of the upflow sedimentation tank: In the upflow sedimentation tank, water enters the tank from the top downward through the inlet pipe located in the pool. An umbrella-shaped baffle is set below the pipe to evenly distribute the wastewater in the pool, which then slowly rises along the entire water-crossing section. Suspended solids settle into the conical sediment hopper at the bottom of the pool, while clarified water flows out along the peripheral overflow weir around the pool. A baffle and scum trough are set in front of the weir to intercept floating scum and ensure the quality of the effluent. A sludge pipe is set on one side of the pool against the wall, and sludge is periodically discharged by static water pressure. III. Equipment composition and the role of each component: The sedimentation tank consists of five parts: the inlet area, sedimentation area, buffer area, sludge area, and outlet area. The role of the inlet and outlet areas is to ensure that water flows evenly through the sedimentation tank, avoiding short-circuiting and reducing the adverse effects of turbulence on sedimentation, while also reducing dead water areas and improving the volume utilization rate of the sedimentation tank. The sedimentation area, also known as the clarification area, is the working area of the sedimentation tank, where sedimentable particles are separated from the sewage. The sludge area is the region for sludge storage, concentration, and discharge.
