Product Description AbstractAddBlend S500 system is designed to manufacture silane crosslinkable compounds which used the SILOXANE soaking compound and one-component system, a silane crosslinkable system developed by KABELMETAL ELECTRO GmbH. AddBlend S500 system allows the additives and silane to be homogeneously compounded with polyethylene pellets. The resulting compound is thermoplastic in nature that can be extruded into the finished product. Curing of the finished product is done in the presence of moisture.AddBlend S500 system offers users an easy-to-operate, reliable and affordable method for producing quality crosslinkable polyethylene using the "Siloxane Process". This process is also called "Soaking compound", the PE pellet just soaks liquid silane and other additives, need not to be extrude like Sioplas method.AddBlend S500 system is design by a team of experienced professionals that had been responsible for the design, construction and start-up of many XLPE compounding facilities that are currently supplying compounds to cable and pipe producers around the world.Advantages of the "Siloxane" methodAddBlend S500 system utilizes the "Siloxane"method to convert most commodity polyethylene into specialty crosslinkable compounds. Using the AddBlend S500 system, crosslinkable cable or pipe compound makers need not invest in expensive extrusion machinery and silane injection equipments. Significant savings, as compared to the "Sioplas"method, is achieved because of lower capital and lower processing cost when using the AddBlend S500 system."Siloxane" compounds can be easily extruded by the crosslinkable compound users (cable and pipe producer) using existing PVC or PE type extruders, with little or no modifications made to the extruders. Crosslinkable compounds manufactured by the "Siloxane" method are now widely accepted by many cable manufactures worldwide. In many countries, the usage of "Siloxane" produced material constitutes well over half of the total consumption of crosslinkable compounds.Key features and benefits of AddBlend S500 systemLow capital investment with reduced variable cost_ AddBlend S500 system significantly reduces capital investment cost to manufacture crosslinkable compound. For a 1, 000 kg/hrAddBlend S500 system, the setup cost is expected to be less than half of a twin screw extruder required to manufacture "Sioplas" compounds. Additional 800 kg/hr capacity is available by installing an add-on unit which cost only about half of the original AddBlend S500 unit._ As there is no heating element, AddBlend S500 system significantly reduces the utility cost to produce crosslinkable compound as compared to "Sioplas" systems.Superior product quality_ AddBlend S500 system incorporates the many refinements and improvements in equipment and process technology develop by our experts._ An important proprietary process unique to the AddBlend S500 system is the cleaning of incoming polymers for undesirable materials such as streamers, dust, ferrous and nonferrousMetals contaminants, resulting in superior compounded products. At a production rate of 200 MTs a month, the typical cost of production for 1 metric ton of crosslinkable cable insulation compound using AddBlend S500 system should be between USD 220 to USD 280 per ton over the cost of polyethylene.
